Bio - Megan Lyn Popowski
Megan, formerly Megan Scott, began her career as a sectional cellist with the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra. Since than, she has performed with the Duluth Symphony, University of Wisconsin Symphony, Metropolitan Symphony, and Moorhead State University Orchestra just to name a few. Megan has recorded for PBS, Stars on the Rock, Aquasphere Recording Studios out of Germany, University of Wisconsin Orchestra, Aviette, JoAnna James, and numerous small bands. She has performed on the stage with artists such as Sharon Isbin, Sidney Harth, Anthony Ross, Sally Chisholm, Young-Nam Kim, Sharon Robinson, Jamie Laredo, and Cynthia Phelps just to name a few.
Teaching has been a steady part of her cello career. She has over 16 years of experience. She began teaching at 14 when her teacher offered her some of his students. She has taught for the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras as both a sectional coach and a quartet coach, Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra Camp, University of Wisconsin private lesson program, and various master classes. Last summer she was the co-founder of a cello choir camp named Cello Appassionato.
Her teachers include Uri Vardi, Robert Jamieson, Carol Kautzmann, and Nathan Davis.
Currently she maintains a studio, is the cellist and does free-lance cello work. One of her new favorite musicians to work with is Karen Paurus. Check out: Smoke
